Tapis-Siège:

Rue des Ursulines prototype (1980)

In 1980, Maïa and Pierre Paulin moved to 5 Rue des Ursulines.

It is for this unusual space that the designer made the two first prototypes of the Rug-Seat.

One of the models is displayed here in its original condition, with the second joining the collections of the Pompidou Centre in 2003.

The third model was produced in the 90s for a friend of the family, who had been charmed by the first one during a visit in Paris. This copy resurfaced and was sold by the Jacques Lacoste gallery in 2021.
