Chirac Sofa
In the 1980s, Pierre Paulin was commissioned by Jacques Chirac, then Mayor of Paris, to design furniture for the City Hall, notably for the Tapestry Room. On this occasion, he created a generously sized sofa, featuring a lacquered wooden frame and a multi-layered seat. This commission continued Paulin’s collaborations with public institutions, following his designs for the Élysée Palace in the 1970s.
