Mitterrand Armchair
The ensemble commissioned in 1983 by François Mitterrand for his presidential office is an iconic creation born of the collaboration between Pierre Paulin and the Mobilier National.
Paulin borrowed the blue and Tyrian pink from a tapestry by Charles Le Brun located in the Salon Doré; bold, unconventional colors for an official setting.
In a radical gesture, the pink line, which at first glance appears purely decorative, is in fact the very structure that gives this monumental desk its surprising lightness.
Limited edition of 30 pieces.
